7 Companies Raising Dividends In April

We are 10 days into April 2013 and so far we have 7 companies boosting dividend payouts. Below is a summary of these dividend increases and a brief overview of the dividend fundamentals associated with each stock. If we’ve missed any please leave a comment to let us know.

Highest Yielding Increases

Stewart Enterprises – STEI: Increased its dividend from .04 to .045 per quarter. It has a dividend yield of 2.2% and has increased its dividend for one consecutive year. It has a payout ratio of 40%.

Select Income REIT -SIR: Increased its dividend from .42 to .44 per quarter. SIR has a dividend yield of 4.8% and just started paying dividends in 2012. It’s a REIT so we aren’t concerned with the payout ratio.

Mid Range

Tanger – SKT: Also a REIT, Tanger increased it’s dividend from .21 to .2250 per quarter and now has a dividend yield of 2.3%. SKT has increased its dividend for 19 consecutive years.

PNC Financial – PNC: PNC boosted its dividend by 10% going from .40 to .44. PNC now has a dividend yield of 2.4% and the company will not have 3 consecutive years of dividend increases on the books.

Lakeland Financial -LKFN: LKFN increased its dividend from .17 to .19 giving it a new dividend yield of 3.2%. This is the second consecutive year the company has increased its dividend.

Low Yield

Stage Stores – SSI: Increases its dividend from .09 to .10 per quarter. This gives the stock a dividend yield of just 1.4%. The company has increased its dividend for 3 years and has a payout ratio of 33%.

IDEX Corp – IEX: IDEX now has a dividend yield of 1.5% after increasing its dividend from .20 to .23 per quarter. The company has increased its dividend for 4 consecutive years.
