Top Dividend Funds of 2013

As a follow up to last week’s post on the top dividend stocks on 2013 I thought it would be good to highlight which funds are performing the best so far in 2013. I’m not a big fan of investing in mutual funds because it goes against my stance on frugal investing. But there are plenty of people that don’t have the time or the ability to be a DIY investor and I understand. For those that find themselves investing in funds this post is for you.

Now just because a fund pays dividends it does not mean that the fund only invests in dividend stocks, or that the fund invests in stocks at all. Each of these funds pay dividends monthly and can be found everyday on our monthly dividend payout list.

The Top 10

I’ve listed the top 10 performers so far in 2013 and a brief description of the fund along with a few performance stats. For many of these funds a big part of the return shareholders earn is in the dividend so I’ve included half of the dividend in the total return.
