High Yield Stocks Raising Dividends

In the last week 5 stocks that yield over 4% have announced dividend increases. Here is a quick look at each of those stocks and 7 other companies that have announced increases. This post follows up on an earlier post of other companies that have boosted dividends in April 2013.

High Yield

ONEOK Partners L.P. – OKS: ONEOK raised its quaterly dividend to .715 per share which gives it a yield of 5.1%. OKS has increased its dividend for 8 consecutive years.

People’s United Financial – PBCT: PBCT increased its quaterly dividend to .1625 which gives it a yield of 5.1%. The company has increased its dividend for 5 consecutive years.

LRR Energy – LRE: LRR Energy increased its quaterly dividend to .4825 and gives the stock a 11.4% Yield. The company started paying dividends in 2012 and has increased its dividend each quarter except for Q2 2012.

Kinder Morgan – KMI: Kinder Morgan increased its quarterly dividend to .38 which gives the stock a 4% yield. This is the 2nd consecutive year of increases from KMI.

Star Gas Partners L.P. – SGU: Star Gas Partners increased its quarterly dividend to .0825 which gives it a 7.2% yield. SGU had been increasing dividends but paused its increases in 2012.

Mid Yield

Sonoco Products – SON: Sonoco increased its quarterly dividend to .31 which gives it a 3.6% yield. SON has increased its dividend for 20 years which means it now qualifies for the safe dividend list.

Whirlpool Corp – WHR: Whilpool increased its dividend to .625 per quarter which gives it a 2.2% yield. Whirlpool has had irregular diviedend increases over the last 5 years but has had no cuts.

Mercantile Bank – MBWM: Mercantile Bank increased its dividend to .11 per quarter which gives the stock a 2.7% yield. Its been a wild ride form MBWM over the last 5 years. The company resumed quarterly payouts in 2013.

Procter & Gamble – PG: One of the most widely noted increases was from Proctor & Gamble. PG raised its dividend to .6015 per quarter which gave the stock a yield of 3%. PG has increased its dividend for 59 years.

CSX Corp. – CSX: CSX corp increased its quarterly dividend payout to .15 which gives it a yield of 2.5%. CSX has increased its dividend for 9 consecutive years.

Susquehanna Banc – SUSQ: Susquehanna raised its dividend to .08 per quarter which gives it a yield of 2.8%. Susquehanna has increased its dividend for 3 straight years.
